Description
The Robens Green Cone 4 – four person tipi style tent is a fantastic take on the classic tipi. Designed with an offset pole in order to increase usable living space inside the tent; there is room inside for 4 people to sleep comfortably. This is a great tent for bushcraft and family camping or just for fun without compromising on the quality or performance.
This versatile 4-person tipi has great headroom. It features an offset centre pole at the entrance by the large porch and inner, this pole lifts the outer from the ground to create a gap to aid air flow. Small corner poles are sewn into the inner to create a wall that adds extra useable space. To save weight and ive you the perfect bivvy tent, you can easily remove the inner and adjust the telescopic centre pole so the outer sits close to the ground. Rapid Clamcleat® guyline and buckle pegging point adjustment aids both pitching and stability.
There is also ample interior storage space on either side the main door. This is great for wet gear or for any camping/cooking equipment that you want to keep sheltered.
This is a great tent to use as your basecamp for all adventures. Although some might find it a little heavy to carry over longer distance, however you can always just separate the inner from its outer and then divide these and the pole sections amongst your group to make it more manageable.
If you wish to travel lighter but still want good protection then just leave the inner behind and pitch the tipi outer by itself to use it as a simple bothy. This also makes it possible to take the Green Cone with you as a robust day shelter when you are not planning any overnight stays.
Ventilation:
The Green Cone’s pole is telescopic and you can easily raise or lower the edge of the outer tent. The gap this creates between the ground and athe outer then allows air to circulate through the interior more freely.
Increased ventilation reduces the amount of condensation that builds naturally up through use (this happens in every tent) and also help keep the tents inner cooler during summer trips
Pitching Tip:
First you must sip the door shut and then peg out the taped loops either side of the front door.
Then work your way around the tent in one direction pegging the adjustable guylines around the edge of the tent. Do NOT pull the tent too tight as you peg these out but make sure you give it some shape.
Once all the pegs are placed around the edge of the tent, unzip the door and with the pole set to its smallest length feed it up into the tent and raise.
At this point the tipi is effectively pitched. Just adjust the height to suit your needs and then to straighten/tighten the pegs around the outer.
Point to NOTE: The Green Cone has an assymetric pole and it is not designed to stand straight up in the centrre of the tent.
Weather depending you should then peg out the guylines too for additional stability.
